“Should I Go? Yes or no?!”

I’ve loved the movies for as long as I can remember. As a kid in Boston’s South End many a weekend was spent at the movies, usually at “The National “. On occasion we would venture into downtown for more variety albeit at pricier theaters. We could buy a balcony seat at “The National” for a quarter and see a double feature, a serial episode and a cartoon or two!! Those were the days. We sometimes would stay in the theater and watch the films again. No one cared.

As the years went by we ended up in the countryside of Western Massachusetts with far fewer movie choices but my passion persisted. At Holy Trinity Catholic School the nuns urged us to see “The Ten Commandments”, “The Robe” and “The Silver Chalice” and of course I saw them all.

In later years movies like “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Godfather”, “Chinatown” , “Cool Hand Luke”, “My Favorite Year” and then the wild and crazy creations “Pulp Fiction”, “Reservoir Dogs” and “Fargo” kept me thirsting for more and more. If anything I see more movies now than ever.

A while back Jennifer suggested that I start a movie review blog, so here I am. My reviews are short and sweet. I don’t want to run through entire plots and give away key content, but rather give you my brief take on the film and suggest whether it is worth your time. Since Siskel and Ebert left us there does not seem to be a good source to evaluate movies. This will not be in their league, but I hope you will enjoy it and use it to find worthwhile films.
